The Best New York Crumb Cake

Definitely a very good cheesecake! My husband says the crust tastes like a sugar cookie! :) I didn't have heavy whipping cream laying around, so I looked up on google some substitutes for heavy whipping cream, and found out that sour cream is fermented whipping cream. Well by golly...So I just used sour cream, and it turned out great!

The Best New York Crumb Cake

  • butter and flour, for greasing the pan

  • 1 + ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
